As one of the top 20 schools in the Eastern Cape, Tarkastad High School has a modest amount of learners (approximately 500) ranging from Grade R to Grade 12.  The matric pass rate for the last 6 years was 100%, with the exception of 2013 in which only 3 learners did not meet the requirements, giving us a pass rate of 90%.  The school was also rated as the best performing school in the Cradock District for the years 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

We pride ourselves on the large percentage of our matric learners who achieve their Grade 12 with a Bachelors entrance.  One notable Matriculant is Mileka Goboda, who matriculated in 2012. Mileka achieved the third highest overall mark in the Cradock District and has completed her Medical Doctor studies at UFS in 2017.

With this proud history, Tarkastad High School has committed to promoting excellence through respect and self-discipline, striving to instill these values in every student during their education.
